The ”Combattre la solitudereveals that “the proportion of people living alone is three times higher than in 1962 due to the decrease in intergenerational cohabitation. Residential isolation is thus the most common way of life among people over 60 years of age. The analysis of this survey shows how this isolation can give rise to a feeling of loneliness, sometimes leading to suffering.
